This is a rare and exquisite collection of vintage Leica lenses, specifically the F2.8-85mm Leica IIIf body, LTM Summarit lenses (excluding the 1953 Leitz Steinheil 1.5cm f1.5 lens), and a Leitz Steinheil 5cm f1.5 LTM lens from 1953.

The F2.8-85mm Leica IIIf body is a versatile and durable piece of photography history, featuring a well-crafted brass construction and smooth, precise focus and aperture controls. Pros of purchasing a Leica IIIf body with LTM Summarit lenses (excluding the 1953 Leitz Steinheil lens):

1. High-quality construction: Leica cameras are renowned for their durability and excellent craftsmanship. The Leica IIIf body is a classic example of this, with its robust magnesium alloy construction and reliable mechanical shutter.

2. Versatile lens selection: The LTM Summarit lenses offer a range of focal lengths, from the wide-angle 5cm f1.5 to the telephoto 85mm f2.8, providing photographers with a wide range of creative possibilities.

3. Sharp and contrasty images: The Summarit lenses are known for their sharpness, contrast, and color rendition, which results in beautiful and lifelike images.

4. Manual focus: The manual focus system allows for fine-tuning of focus, providing a greater sense of control over the final image.

5. Affordability: Compared to modern Leica lenses, the Summarit lenses are relatively affordable, making this setup a more budget-friendly option for photographers who want to experience the Leica experience without breaking the bank.

Cons of purchasing a Leica IIIf body with LTM Summarit lenses (excluding the 1953 Leitz Steinheil lens):

1. Manual focus: While some photographers enjoy the tactile experience of manual focus, others may find it challenging or time-consuming, especially in low-light situations.

2. Lack of autofocus: The Leica IIIf body does not have autofocus, which may be a disadvantage for photographers who prefer to rely on autofocus in certain situations.

3. Limited compatibility: The LTM mount is not as widely supported as other lens mounts, which may limit the compatibility with modern accessories and equipment.

4. Lack of weather sealing: The Leica IIIf body is not weather-sealed, which may make it less suitable for use in adverse weather conditions.

5. Limited availability: The Summarit lenses are not as widely available as modern Leica lenses, which may make it more challenging to find replacements or repair parts.

Conclusion:

The Leica IIIf body with LTM Summarit lenses (excluding the 1953 Leitz Steinheil lens) is a great option for photographers who appreciate classic camera design, high-quality optics, and a more tactile shooting experience. The versatile lens selection, sharp images, and robust construction are all major advantages of this setup. However, the lack of autofocus, limited compatibility, and lack of weather sealing may be disadvantages for some photographers. Ultimately, the decision to purchase this setup depends on an individual's shooting needs, preferences, and budget.

Recommendation:

If you are a serious photographer who values high-quality optics and classic camera design, the Leica IIIf body with LTM Summarit lenses (excluding the 1953 Leitz Steinheil lens) is a great option. However, if you require autofocus or weather sealing, you may want to consider a more modern Leica setup. Additionally, if you are new to the world of manual focus and classic cameras, it may be worthwhile to invest in a more beginner-friendly setup to learn the basics before diving into the world of LTM Summarit lenses.

Details:

Focus and blade movement is good on both Lenses. Lens bodies both look very good. RFD is working and regular speeds are.

If I do check them will mention it on the offer timers can sometimes stick and then have to use a cleaner free up, and, that takes lube off shutter blades even you just want display item.

Shipping: all funds in us. I do not check any timers on the older cameras.

Glass very good on both Lenses with the heavier summarit having clean blades and focus, and, tele also but there is some lube visible in a couple images.

Are working on newer user cameras. I am not sure if set the slow speeds properly as tried to do but don't know did it right. There is a case for the camera and old plastic tube columnar 85mm lens.

I probably had the dial set wrong in my hurry. I made this a bundle for the collector that wants deal to sell some items you don't need and make money by either selling lens or camera Body.

Priced the package for someone to get some money back by selling Body or a ltm lens. Glass good on both. I will not have the time to do it next month or two otherwise would myself.

Who am I to argue with him as was from back east also and had have some liquid lube when came in the cold. The previous owner said he had his camera man put that blade lube on as shot in cold weather back Midwest.

Camera looks very good with great chrome and covering one image shows a slight wear spot on lower back from holder the person used to take outdoor images. The case for camera has a loose cover that needs stitching.

I set the dial to slow speeds but shutter seemed stay open below 1 25 until let it go.
