The glass is clean and clear - though rear thorium element tinted yellow. The lens was then used in my second Aero liberator created by john min nicks sample photos. The Aero liberator was then converted into an oppressor using a different lens. It was great for the black and white images.
It will lighten up clear with some exposure to a UV light. But may not be your thing. This is the ultra rare gold version that I personally removed from original - very broken aerial camera. Its got a sharp yet shallow doff with beautiful bike blur.
This shallow doff means that in close focus situations the depth of field can be measured millimeters. The kodak Aero Ektar lens is a bit of magic. This makes no effect on the image - as shown in samples. This lens features some shaving in the back - order to properly fit within Aero liberator at infinity.
The lens board is a metal sinar with custom drilled and threaded hole allowing Aero Ektar into it without flange. This is perfect for someone with a sinar view camera and auto shutter looking the right barrel lens. The lens features 16 diaphragm blades necessary to maximize roundness of aperture opening and thus minimize rays coming from a light source or reflections.
