Optically the lens is clean, no fungus, no haze, no cleaning marks, maybe has some minor dust particles, but not really visible also all artifacts are reflections. If you re only going to own one s16mm lens, this is the one to have. Mechanically the aperture and focus rings are smooth, the zoom ring is smooth as well but feels a bit thicker than the other rings usable, but could be because I haven't used it in quite some time the lens comes with both a front and rear caps.
